Event 1: Mama's Club Party Night
Date/Time: October 24th, 2019 5PM-9PM
Reflection:
The Mama's Club Party Night was an event that celebrated the mom's who are trying their best to provide for their child or children even though they are struggling. Mama's Club is an event that is put on by the organization Aggieland Pregnancy Outreach in order to provide food, fun and care for teen mom's and now dads. This event was held on Thursday at 6PM but I can early to prep the registration station and the child care rooms. Registrations was seamless and well planned, they had a table with pre made name tags and helpers for information. I was able to see organization and well set leadership. Through this event I learned that it is essential to have a set plan, multiple volunteers and multiple points of contact. This party night had a plan from set up to breakdown, as well as a safety plan for the volunteers who were taking care of the children who were brought to the event. The need for multiple volunteers was essential for the productiveness of the event, because there are multiple moving parts that if one falls through, it will mess up other essential areas. The most important lesson I learned was the multiple points of contact because communication is key when dealing with sensitive situations such as these, knowledge on the moms, dads and children must be communicated correctly and given to specific people. Overall this event was a wonderful experience to help mom's and families in need as well as seen how they created such a beautiful event.

Event 2: The Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center Football Party
Date/Time: November 16th, 2019 2PM-6PM
Reflection:
The Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center Game Day Party was a very packed, fun filled day that required a lot of precision and planning before, during and after. The purpose of this event was to provide pre game attractions before the Texas A&M vs. South Carolina Football game with the "All Day Dining Pass", breakfast bar, cash bar and tailgate games on the third floor outdoor pool deck. What I had to do for this event was prep the lobby bar and dinning pass table. I also helped out with selling the wrist bands that allowed for people to participate in the event. A couple things I learned from this event was precision in the plan, communication with different outlets and making sure you have knowledge of the services you are providing. Planning was utilized well at the football party because they made sure they had all the items needed for the event ready in a specific spot with people ready to service specific areas. Although there were multiple people involved, everyone was knowledgeable of the plan and what their role was in the party. Another lesson I learned, was the importance of communication when having an event. This event has multiple outlets such as front desk, F&B, Engineering, Sales, Marketing and much more that need to be aware and utilize their strengthens to strengthen the event. In order to the party to go smoothly, each moving part needs to be aware of the timeline and role. The last lesson that I learned from this experience was that everyone needs to be knowledgable about the services the event is providing to the guest and attendees. In order to make sure everyone knew about the services, the marketing team did a great job of providing pamphlets, social media post and signs throughout the event. I also made sure to verse myself in the information so I could speak with confidence and precision. Overall it was a great experience for me because I got to step out from the front desk and see how other outlets handle events.

Event 3: Elephant Walk
Date/Time: November 14th, 2019 4:00PM-8:00PM
Reflection:
Texas A&M University has an organization called Class Council that puts on Elephant Walk. Elephant walk is a tradition that has been implemented for many years throughout the campus for seniors. This event is more than a plan, there is a purpose to provide seniors with an opportunity to walk through the past college years and different experiences that were made for the class of 2020. Elephant Walk is more than an event, it is an experience. Being a part of such an awesome event was an honor and valuable lesson for making sure you grasp the purpose and feeling your provide for your attendees. My role in this event was making sure the PR was utilized, prepping aspects of the event such as signage and pointing people in the right direction during the walk. Some lessons I learned through Elephant Walk was the importance of learning from past experiences, providing experiences and utilizing proper sound. I believe that Elephant Walk is an event that can use past experiences to better there event. This event has been a tradition since 1922, so Class Council has had to benefit of having past events to base their event off of. Having said, it is important to reflect on what went well and what could have done better and not get stuck in doing the same thing over and over again. Another lesson I learned was the importance of providing an experience in your event, Elephant Walk did a great job of doing this and it was great to be a part of this event. I was able to see not just an event but an experience and the benefits it provided for the attendees. The last lesson I learned was the proper use of sound, there was many times in the event were it was difficult to hear the speakers or coordinators. This is something that I will be aware of when implementing an event because if you are unable to hear the event, you will not be able to experience the importance and magnitude of what is happening. Overall this was my favorite event because I was able to connect with the experience, students and volunteering while learning how to put on such an important event for Texas A&M University.
